A Glimpse into My Life
I grew up in a small, tight-knit community in the beautiful town of Asheville, North Carolina. Surrounded by the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains, I developed an early appreciation for nature and the importance of community connections. These values have stayed with me throughout my life and have profoundly influenced my approach to journalism.
Currently, I reside in the vibrant city of Washington, D.C., where I have the privilege of being at the heart of the nation’s political and cultural pulse. Living in this diverse and dynamic city has afforded me countless opportunities to engage with leaders, experts, and individuals from all walks of life, enriching my understanding of the world we live in.
My Educational Journey
I pursued my passion for storytelling and factual reporting by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This rigorous program provided me with a solid foundation in the principles of journalism, instilling in me a deep respect for accuracy, truth, and the power of words.
My academic journey continued with a Master’s degree in Journalism Ethics from Columbia University in New York City. This program deepened my commitment to ethical reporting and the vital role that journalism plays in fostering a well-informed society.
Beyond the Newsroom
Outside the newsroom, I’m an avid explorer and hiker. Nature has always been my sanctuary, and I find solace in the great outdoors. Whether it’s a challenging mountain trail or a peaceful walk in the woods, I believe that spending time in nature helps to clear the mind and recharge the spirit.
I’m also a dedicated advocate for media literacy and the importance of critical thinking in today’s information-rich world. I often participate in community workshops and discussions aimed at helping individuals navigate the complexities of modern media.
